Nigeria Federal Government grant 2023 Grant For Vulnerable Group: The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was established by the state, according to a statement made by His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, the governor of Kogi State, on Tuesday in Lokoja.

He claimed that this important move was in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s ultimate goal, which is to pull 50 million Nigerians out of poverty each year through the #RenewedHope program.

At the official opening of the Federal Government’s Grant for Vulnerable program, which is part of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Governor announced at Government House in Lokoja.

He emphasized that the relevant legislative authority and legal frameworks had already been carefully considered to create this ministry.

Beneficiaries of the Grant for Vulnerable Groups, which is intended primarily for the most economically challenged segments of society, would receive N20,000 in cash.

Governor Bello stated that the award will significantly help the administration achieve its objective of removing millions of Nigerians from poverty, even as she praised President Tinubu for his visionary leadership and sincere dedication to eradicating poverty in the country.

He outlined the numerous programs his administration has implemented to lessen and ultimately eradicate poverty in Kogi State. These consist of a free healthcare program for expectant mothers and children, free education in elementary and secondary schools, and the quarterly delivery of food palliatives.

Furthermore, the government has taken on the duty of paying examination fees for pupils enrolled in public schools, providing money like the N497 million that was paid in October for the 2024 WAEC expenses.

The administration’s successful Zero-out-School-Children effort is credited by the governor for these policies. He conveyed his belief that Ahmed Usman Ododo, the incoming governor, will build on these successes and fortify relationships with the national and local governments to promote the general well-being of the populace.

The recipients were congratulated and Kogi women were lauded for their steadfast support of the APC-led government at the federal and state levels by the Honorable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, during the occasion.

She pointed out that in addition to the Grant for Vulnerable Groups, the federal government had launched more than 20 social initiatives aimed at reducing poverty, ensuring food security, and advancing human capital.

The minister disclosed that 3,000 people in Kogi State received program benefits during the program’s first phase.

Asiwaju Idris Asiru, the state commissioner for finance, budget, and economic planning, applauded Governor Yahaya Bello for implementing several measures to fight poverty and socioeconomic disparity as well as to improve security in the state, and he applauded the Federal Government’s initiative.
