Rescheduled Training Timetable for Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors | Facilitators and Specialized WorkForce 2023
The 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise, which was originally slated to begin on March 29, 2023, has been postponed by the National Population Commission until May 2023.
NPC Training – Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Communication and Culture, delivered the news to State House reporters on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Mr. Mohammed, the move of the 2023 Census date was necessary since the governor and house of assembly elections had to be moved from March 11 to March 18.
He also said that N2.8 billion had been granted by the FEC for the National Population Commission (NPC) to purchase some software for the 2023 Census Operation.
In light of the aforementioned, the NPC has rescheduled the 2023 Census Activities and issued a Revised Training Time Schedule for Enumerators and Supervisors Adhoc Staff Training.

According to the NPC, New Time Table of 2023 Census Activities are scheduled as follows:
a) 27th March 2023 to 29th March 2023: Refereshers (Virtual Training) for State Level Facilitators and Specialized WorkForce
b) Training for First Phase Enumerators and Supervisors at the LGA Level on Building Numbering and Household Listing will take place from March 31 to April 6, 2023.
c) The Second Phase Enumerators and Supervisors Training at the LGA Level will take place from April 25 through April 29, 2023.
d) 2nd May, Census Night 2023.
e) Enumeration of Persons (Main Census) – 3rd May, 2023 to 7th May, 2023.
The date of the Population and Housing Census has been moved from March 29, 2023, to May 2023.
Lai Mohammed, the minister of communication and culture, announced this during the Federal Executive Council (FEC), which was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja.
He claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to move the Governorship and Houses of Assembly elections to March 18 forced the decision to reschedule.
He added that the National Population Commission (NPC) was given N2.8 billion by the Council in order to purchase some software for the census.
