Its mandate also includes conducting demographic sample surveys, gathering, compiling, and publishing data on migration and civil registration, and keeping an eye on the nation’s population policy.
Two of the 19 commissioners whose nominations President Tinubu received were not present for the screening, thus the Senate reviewed and confirmed 17 of them a fortnight ago.
On Wednesday, the following people took the oath of office: Blessyn Brume-Maguha (Delta), Alex Ukam (Cross River), Isa Buratal (Borno), Clifford Zirra (Adamawa), and Emanuel Eke (Abia).
Others included this man called Tony Alyejina (Edo), Ejike Ezeh (Enugu), Abubakar Damburam from (Gombe), Uba Nnabue (Imo), Jeremiah Nwankwegu from (Ebonyi), and Sa’adatu Garba (Kaduna).
There were still others: Saany Sale (Taraba), Ogiri Henry (Rivers), Mary Afan (Plateau), Yori Afolabi (Kogi), and Aminu Tsanyawa (Kano).
