CBN NIN deadline: The number of people registering for Bank Verification Numbers, or BVNs, jumped to 61.16 million on March 15, 2024, ahead of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s April 2024 deadline.
This was revealed in the most recent BVN database by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).
Compared to the 59.9 million recorded on January 26, 2024, the statistic indicates an increase.
This indicates that between late January and mid-March of this year, 674,280 new BVN registrations were registered.
Remember that in December of last year, the National Identification Number, or NIN, that is attached to all accounts and wallets had to be electronically revalidated by January 31, 2024.
This directive was sent out by the Apex Bank to merchants, commercial, non-interest, payment service banks, other financial institutions, and mobile money operators.
