There was a perception before this that the funds provided to the Commission were wasted.
According to what we’ve observed thus far, however, a Commission developed the concept that can provide Nigeria with accurate data.
Thus, based on our initial observations, we are certain that the Commission is prepared for the upcoming Census.
We are aware that all economic indicators rely on data and assumptions, which is detrimental to the nation. According to what we’ve seen so far, the House Committee on Population will convey this message to the House leadership, and we’re going to make the census a mandatory exercise.
According to the information we’ve received thus far, the census has been completed in more than 80% of the countries, and the Commission has shown us that every area in Nigeria has been demarcated, and they also guarantee that our numbers will be accurate.
Therefore, it is now our responsibility to ensure that, in addition to providing just legislative support, we also inform the Executive that this is of utmost importance because, with the data they have provided, it is even feasible to use to identify insecurity; it is even more advantageous to use this data to plan our economy.
