Presenting the 2024 cohort of the Africa SDGs Mentorship Program with great pleasure is AIIDEV Africa. The purpose of this seven-month fellowship program is to train young professionals from Africa so they can support sustainable development back home.

The program’s goal is to provide the next generation of African leaders with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to advance sustainable development across the continent. It is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

The goal of the Africa SDGs Mentorship Program is to provide young African professionals with the skills necessary to spearhead sustainable development projects back home. The Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme aims to bridge the gap in mentorship opportunities for young professionals across the continent, with an emphasis on sustainable development.

The effort is bolstered by the imperative to provide African youth with the necessary competencies and resources to assume leadership roles and effect positive change within their communities.

By pairing up young professionals with seasoned mentors, the fellowship program will close the skills gap and cultivate a new generation of leaders with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to assist Africa in achieving the SDGs.

Eligibility Criteria:

Before submitting your application, please take note of the following requirements to be eligible for this program:

Candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 40 and citizens of any African nation.

A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required of applicants in any relevant discipline.

A minimum of two years of professional work experience in a sustainable development-related field is required of applicants, or they must have shown a commitment to advancing the SDGs through voluntary work or personal projects.

Candidates must genuinely care about sustainable development, be passionate about it, and want to help Africa achieve the SDGs.

Fellows should exhibit the ability to take on leadership roles and a genuine desire to improve their home nations and local communities.

To fully engage in the seven-month mentorship program, fellows must be able to attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions.

Candidates must be dedicated to participating completely in the mentorship program, actively assisting other participants and their mentors, and finishing all program requirements.

Since the program will be taught in English, applicants should be fluent in the language.

A dependable internet connection and the required tech equipment should be available to applicants so they can fully engage in online activities and meetings.

It may be necessary for fellows to provide letters of recommendation or references from experts or other individuals who can vouch for their credentials, moral fiber, and dedication to sustainable development.

NB: Fellows must speak and understand English fluently because the Africa SDGs Mentorship Program will be held in that language. We will reject applications that are not submitted in English. Starting on May 1st, 2024, selected applicants will be engaged in a 7-month fellowship program.
