Following a meeting of the state’s Organized Labor in Dutse, the state capital, the rejection was announced in a press release.
The state chairmen and secretaries of the NLC and TUC signed a joint statement describing the wage award announcement by the state administration as premature, claiming that no agreement had been reached on the subject.

When state Commissioner for Information, Youth, and Culture Hon. Sagiru Musa announced the N10,000 pay award for three months, the Organized Labor expressed surprise.
