To perform a reliable census in Nigeria, Mr. Nasir Kwarra, Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), has asked the Nigerian Army for assistance.

Kwara made the call on Thursday in Abuja when he paid Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), a courtesy visit.

He explained that the purpose of the visit was to express gratitude to the CDS for the good work the military had been doing for the nation and to remind him that they were still defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and working to keep the country at peace.

According to the NPC chief, the military has continued to assist the commission in its efforts to get ready for the census.

“The April census, which was supposed to happen, was postponed until the election of the new administration.

The conduct of the census has been assured by Mr. President. We are here to ask the army for help in providing security coverage for officials, offices at the state and local government levels, as well as access to military barracks around the country, the official stated.

In response, Gen. Musa stated that the military was prepared to assist the commission to guarantee the completion of an accurate census.

A thorough census, he claimed, would ensure that both national development and development processes were being followed appropriately. He claimed that the military understands the value of censuses.

He claimed that the military was mainly worried about the security issue.

The military has a very thorough logistics system that functions extremely well wherever we are, so it will be a holistic item and incorporate that part.

We’re going to use every tool at our disposal to ensure that the census is successful, he stated.

Tinubu has not yet set a Date for the census; Reject The Job Advertisement Check NPC Recommendation.

NPC Training Date: According to the National Population Commission (NPC), President Bola Tinubu has not set a date for the 2023 Population and Housing Census in Nigeria.

President Tinubu allegedly gave the National Population Commission (NPC) instructions to conduct the National Population and Housing Census on Monday, November 20, according to the “2023 Census ADHOC Staff Update” Facebook page.

For those who are interested in becoming census officers for the commission, the page also includes a recruitment link.

However, the NPC rejected the claim, calling it false and stating that the report is not connected to the National Population Commission in a tweet posted on its X account on Wednesday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not set a date for the conduct of the next Population and Housing Census in Nigeria, the Commission wishes to inform the public.

The NPC also stated that when a date for the census is determined, it will be announced in the national media as well as on the NPC website and social media platforms.

The commission asked the general people to ignore the false information spreading on the Facebook page and to always find out the truth about the commission’s operations on the official NPC social media accounts and website.
