NPC Latest News On Adhoc Staff Enumerators And Supervisors – The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has tasked the National Population Commission with conducting a legitimate and widely recognized exercise as the country gets ready to undertake a population census.

The monarch recalled that the data from the last exercise had been erroneous and unreliable for national planning due to credibility tests.

The call was made by Oba Aladelusi, who also serves as the head of the Ondo State Council of Obas, as he received the Local Government Coordinators of the NPC in Ondo State to inform him of their readiness for the exercise in May 2023.

The monarch said, “We now have a very good opportunity to right the wrong of the past and ensure that all the data that will be collected will be realistic, reliable, and fit for national planning and development,”

The king commanded the coordinators, saying, “You must ensure that your enumerators get into the nooks and crannies of the state.” You must make sure that everyone is counted and avoid the assumptions that purportedly typified the earlier exercise. You must be ready to enter these recently opened areas because, for example, Akure is seeing a large population increase.

Ondo State Census Sensitization and Publicity Committee member Oba Aladelusi made a commitment to rally the state’s traditional chiefs in support of the Commission in order to ensure a smooth operation.

Also, he urged citizens of Ondo State, and specifically Akure, to stay put during the exercise because there is no justification for traveling at that time.

The NPC’s Akure South Coordinator, Mr. Onoda Jubril, responded by thanking the monarch for his support of the commission and for forming a committee to assist it in carrying out its tasks.

He gave the assurance that the commission would conduct the exercise diligently and in full readiness. He expressed hope that the upcoming census, which would be digital in nature, will eliminate all unfair tactics that have been previously revealed.
