NDE starts registering unemployed people in all states in Nigeria include Abuja 2023 Grant
In an effort to get all unemployed persons in Nigeria registered and involved in worthwhile endeavors, the National Directorate of Employment, or NDE, has started doing so.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Enugu, the agency’s Enugu State Coordinator, Ifeoma Ezekwe, disclosed the information.
The activity, according to Mrs. Ezekwe, is taking place in all 36 of the federation’s states, including the FCT, Abuja.
In addition, she added that it was open to all classes of unemployed people, with or without educational credentials, and that registration was taking place simultaneously in all 774 local government areas (LGAs) across the country.

She claims that the goal of the effort is to identify every unemployed person so that the nation can properly plan and employ them in lucrative businesses to reduce crime and promote economic growth.
“The nation cannot plan without data; data is crucial to planning, and NDE has been working to lower unemployment rates by empowering people to become self-employed and employers of labor since 1987.
“I was chosen to serve as the state coordinator in May 2022, and I count it a privilege to work for the current NDE Director-General, Malam Nuhu Fikpo, whom I like to refer to as an employment generator.
Since he joined the team, Aka remarked, “we have never had a minute of rest without activities and programs. I call him employment generator.”
According to Mrs. Ezekwe, the NDE has four main programs, including special public works, small skills enterprises, rural empowerment, and vocational skills.

She claimed that the state directorate had just finished teaching women how to make shoes and bags so that, even though they were full-time housewives, they could have a job and make some money.
Aka expressed optimism that the directorate will be able to carry out its goal, despite the fact that she acknowledged that the NDE had encountered difficulties such as a lack of funding and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) policy to redesign the naira.
Mrs. Ezekwe urged the state government to provide the agency with access to vehicles that might be deployed to reach the state’s difficult-to-reach LGAs.
