Important Notice for Online Cash Palliative Program For Security

Cash Palliative Program: The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, is allegedly offering N10,000 in cash palliatives to every resident of the state, according to a bogus message that has gone viral and been spreading on social media. This has alarmed the Ogun State government.

The fraudulent mail also offers a link and exhorts recipients to apply for the mentioned cash palliative and spread the word about it so that others may also profit. This was disclosed in a statement released on Sunday, February 25, 2024, by Kayode Akinmade, the Special Advisor to the Governor on Media and Communications.

Akinmade vehemently denied the message in its entirety in the statement, alerting the public to the fact that it is a clear fraud and advising the people of the state not to fall for it. The words of the media assistant to the governor of Ogun State

In the statement, Akinmade stated.

“The Ogun State Government has learned of a bogus message that is making the rounds on social media, purporting to be an offer from Governor Dapo Abiodun to provide N10,000 in cash palliative for each citizen in the state.

‘’Along with a link, the fake mail exhorts recipients to apply for the mentioned cash palliative and to spread the word about it so that others may also profit.

“The governor Dapo Abiodun administration is dedicated to actually easing the suffering of the state’s citizens and residents through initiatives like the many empowerment programs and policies it has implemented since 2019 and the N5 billion intervention scheme it recently announced.”

The statement went on to say that the government has been giving traders, craftsmen, women, youths, and other beneficiaries financial help as well as various forms of empowerment so they can grow their businesses and/or become independent people.

The link supplied in the scam message is fake and unauthorized by the government, he said, adding, “The Ogun State Government is not involved in any form of cash transfer program through https://taskcashup.com/get/OGUN-st-relief-funds/Apply/ogun-reg-portal.”

The government also clarified that genuine information about government intervention programs and initiatives is distributed through official channels, such as government websites, press releases, and official social media handles, and warned that any attempt to access or provide personal information through this link poses a significant risk to individuals.

The warning went on to advise avoiding and treating with suspicion any information that did not come from these official sources.

In the statement, Akinmade urged the public to use caution and abstain from spreading such false information. She also stated that the Ogun State Government, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, remained dedicated to its declared goal of improving the lives of the state’s good people both during and after this difficult time, but that this would be accomplished in a way that does not put the populace in danger.
