On February 19, 2024, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, announced the commencement of Project 774 LG Connectivity on his Twitter profile.
HM Dr. Bosun Tijani claims that the initiative will connect all 774 Local Government Secretariats in Nigeria by utilizing the @NigComSat1R and @Galaxybackbone’s current infrastructure.

774 Project As we expand across the country, LG Connectivity will likely generate additional jobs indirectly through increased digital access, in addition to at least 300 direct jobs. Additionally, it is a big step toward fulfilling President @officialABAT’s duty to provide effective public service to our citizens at the LG level and is in line with our Ministry’s Strategic Blueprint.

Gaining the cooperation of all relevant parties—the government, business community, and local communities—is crucial to the Project 774 LG Connectivity Network’s successful implementation. By supplying our 774 LGAs with dependable internet access, we will close the digital divide, strengthen local communities, and promote inclusive digital development.

All things considered, by offering reasonably priced and dependable internet connectivity in these areas, Project 774 LG Connectivity Network will be essential to the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy’s efforts to promote inclusive digital transformation.
