Call For Nominations: Program Of The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship (LAWFF)

Are there any women in the food ecosystem who are leaders? If so, it would be a pleasure to meet them.

The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship is an ambitious initiative run by AFC that aims to raise the profile of young African women who are making exceptional achievements and having a significant impact on the food ecosystem. Nominations are being accepted now.

Through recognition and access to vital resources, this program will amplify, celebrate, champion, and advance the work of successful applicants.

The groundbreaking Leading African Women in Food Fellowship (LAWFF) Program honors and empowers female leaders in the African food and agriculture industries. The program offers remarkable female disruptors, entrepreneurs, lawmakers, chefs, trendsetters, and storytellers six months of training, coaching, and a supportive community. In keeping with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, LAWFF actively advances gender equality, fights poverty, and encourages sustainable economic growth.

Top Chefs in Africa

culinary artists who are rewriting the history of African cuisine with their inventiveness and inventive cooking techniques.

accomplished change actors who have led the way for others and made revolutionary contributions to the African food environment.

Food and Beverage Story-Shifters

Digital media experts and storytellers who produce experiences, products, or content that shifts global perceptions, connects people to different African foods and beverages, and amplifies positive changes and opportunities in the ecosystem (e.g., journalist, food blogger, food stylist, curator, content creator, consumer packaged goods entrepreneur, etc.).

Disruptors

To address issues with the food system, design or modify instruments, models, strategies, and/or use technology (e.g., innovator, researcher, product developer, intrapreneur, etc.)

Facilitators of Ecosystems

Leaders in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors who launch and expand novel goods, concepts, and/or chances that support a more equitable and sustainable food system

Eligibility

  • Women only: Ages 25-40 years
  • three years or more of experience working in the agriculture-food industry
  • Proven influence
  • A national of an African nation
  • living in an African nation before submitting the application
