AFCON 2023: hot message to Nigerian Super Eagle players from Guinea Team Couch
AFCON 2023: At the team’s pre-tournament press conference in Abidjan on Saturday, Michá said the group, which he called a “family,” had done enough preparation and was ready to pull together to win the competition.
“Above all, we refer to it as a family instead than a team. Therefore, we are expected to work together to succeed in the competition because we have prepared well in advance,” he stated.
“We are proud to be here and we want to go further—we are playing one of the most successful teams in Africa and one of those considered favorites to win the tournament tomorrow,” Michá remarked about the Super Eagles’ upcoming match against Nigeria.
“However, he said, “We (Equatorial Guinea) have prepared well to record a win against any team.”
Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper Jesús Owono, who plays for Alaves in the Spanish La Liga, stated that football is harder in Africa than it is in Europe, but he also reaffirmed that he is prepared to stop Victor Osimhen’s Nigerian attack line.
“African football is different; it’s more physical, but I just want to enjoy the game tomorrow; there’s no pressure, no fear.”
Owono remarked, “I hope we accomplish great things here, that my friends and family enjoy, and that I try my hardest to stop the Nigerian forward.”
