Breaking News: As the second cohort of the 3MTT begins training, FG will share 50 laptops each month
According to announcements made by the Federal Government, participants in the 3 Million Technical Training (3MTT) program would get 50 computers every month.
This was revealed on Thursday when Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, stated that the 270,000 fellows chosen for the program’s second batch would begin their studies.
The Minister states that the laptops will be distributed to the fellows at the program’s monthly knowledge showcase when they will discuss their learnings and practical applications.
A highlight of the “learning perks” revealed by the Minister also reveals that the fellows will receive five MTN routers per month as part of the scheme.
The learning phase
The program’s second cohort began in March, but according to the Minister, learning only got underway in the middle of May.
Declaring the meeting to begin, Tijani stated, “Happy to announce the beginning of the 2nd Cohort of 3MTTNigeria’s learning phase.” We appreciate your patience as the staff worked to ensure everything was ready for the start of your sessions, fellow members.

Job placements for fellows
The Minister revealed that many of the fellows from the program’s first cohort were being hired as interns across the nation when announcing the selection of fellows for the program’s second cohort.
Furthermore, he stated that all of the fellows from the first phase have reached a point where they would be using what they have learned by collaborating with their peers to design solutions that may highlight their areas of expertise and by taking part in hackathons within their respective states.
To support Nigeria’s digital economy and establish the country as a net talent exporter, Tijani claims that the 3MTT initiative is an essential component of the Renewed Hope agenda.
With the selection of 270,000 for the second cohort, the program’s initial enrollment of 30,000 Nigerians—or 1% of the 3 million target—raises the total to 10%. ..
According to Tijani, the various stages of the program will be carried out by the framework that was jointly developed with important players from government organizations, training providers, academic institutions, development agencies, and the commercial sector to meet its goal.
Nigerians are receiving training on a variety of skills, some of which involve using technology to improve jobs without actually creating new technology.
These comprise, among many other things, Digital Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Project Management Software, Cloud platform navigation, Data Analysis and Visualization, Digital Marketing, Accounting Software, Graphics Design, and UX/UI Design.
