Governor: Almost 22,000 Applicants will Receive 50k Presidential Grant In My State
Under the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS) to support Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state, no fewer than 22,000 recipients in Kogi will receive N50,000 apiece. During an enrollment exercise on Thursday at the Ohinoyi palace in Ebiraland, Okene, Hon.
Muhammad Kadiri Okeji, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), revealed this.
According to Okeji, the PCGS is being carried out by President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment through the Bank of Industry (BOI) in collaboration with the Kogi Government.
He mentioned that on Wednesday, the Kogi government simultaneously announced the PCGS enrollment for recipients of Nano enterprises in the three senatorial districts of Okene, Ankpa, and Kabba.
He revealed that more than 22,000 recipients in Kogi’s 21 local government areas will receive grants of N50,000 apiece to expand their nanobusinesses and increase sustainability.
He stated that approximately 1070 recipients would receive the money from each of the state’s 21 local government districts.
“Over 22,000 Nano business owners in Kogi State would receive a one-time award of N50,000 through the PCGS, which aims to lessen the terrible consequences of the loss of fuel subsidies. “We express our gratitude to the President for his significant initiative during a period of challenging economic times for businesses and the wider Nigerian community.”
“The President’s action is a considerate step in the right direction to protect the ecosystem of small businesses, which is the backbone of the American economy,” he said. Okeji conveyed his appreciation to Governor Ahmed Ododo for embracing the program and allocating sufficient funds to allow thousands of Kogi Nano enterprises to reap the rewards.
He claimed that by doing this, the governor was pursuing his goal of bolstering MSMEs, which continue to be the foundation of the country’s economy. “We appreciate our governor stepping up to provide the necessary resources to support the federal government’s effort in announcing the scheme throughout Kogi,” he continued.

HRM Alh. Ahmed Tijani-Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, praised President Tinubu for his prompt effort and the governor for making sure that more Kogi residents benefited from the program in his speech.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Okeji then traveled throughout the state to keep an eye on the enrolling process in Kabba and Lokoja. Okeji went on to say that the BoI authorities’ enrollment process was anticipated to go until Friday, after which the funds would be disbursed.
