Teachers Recruitiment: Federal Government begins 2024 ‘Build-A-Thon’ initiative
Teachers Recruitiment 2024: On Thursday, the Build-A-Thon initiative program of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy announced the opening of applications for teaching jobs.
According to Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, the program was introduced earlier in December and will encourage senior secondary pupils to adopt technology early.
It is anticipated that 1,500 pupils from 150 schools in three locations—Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta—will participate in the four-day event in January 2024.
On Thursday, the ministry stated on X that applications from aspiring instructors are being accepted.
To mentor the upcoming generation of tech innovators in secondary schools, the ministry further stated that the ideal applicants should be visionary educators, teachers, and enthusiasts.

Speaking about the program’s recent debut, the minister stated, “Our strategic plan to promote early-technology adoption to shape tomorrow’s innovation leaders includes the Build-A-Thon initiative.”
He clarified that exhibiting creative ideas, honoring accomplishments, encouraging future teamwork, motivating upcoming leaders, and encouraging lifelong learning are all part of the program’s overarching objectives.
