Nysc Monthly Allowance – The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised corps members to abandon the idea of receiving a raise in their monthly stipend. According to the scheme, there is currently no such plan in place.

The Director-General of the Youth Scheme, Brig-Gen Yashua Dogara Ahmed, responded to inquiries from the media on Tuesday at NYSC headquarters in Abuja and counseled corps members to embrace skill acquisition.

“The corpers’ allowance was increased by the current administration,” he remarked. They hiked it from N19,500 to N33,000. That is acceptable.

“I advised the corps members to choose a skill and develop it. I told them that even though we work for the government, our pay is never adequate. We always request an increase.

“Today, you’re receiving N33,000, and after serving your time, you’ll receive a job paying between N100,000 and N150,000, which is five times what you were previously paid, but you’ll still be whining and asking for a raise.”
