NPC Training Update Today | Peter Obi the NPC Training postponement was a welcome development And Census In 2023
Npc Training update Today – Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded general election, Peter Obi, has lauded the postponement of the census by the Federal Government.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the recently completed general election, has praised the Federal Government for delaying the census.
The postponement, according to Obi on Saturday, was a positive development and had become necessary to ensure careful planning and thoroughness.

Obi responded to the news via his Twitter account, saying that while a census was “long overdue” in Nigeria, it required careful planning and diligence to ensure the integrity of the results, the effectiveness of the information gathered, and its utility in advancing national development goals.
“It is hoped that when the census is eventually conducted, it will serve as confidence-building measures instead of being fraught with the usual controversy.”
In a similar vein, Buhari was praised for accepting the postponement of the census by the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, in a statement released on Saturday and signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Terver Akase.
On April 13, Ortom urged the Federal Government to delay the census until adequate security was ensured throughout the nation.
The governor made it clear that carrying out the census would be unfair to the millions of Nigerians who had been uprooted from their homes of origin and were now living in IDP camps across the state and the rest of the nation.
According to the governor, the Federal Government should make sure that Nigerians whose villages had been overrun by bandits and armed herders regain such and return home since the census has been postponed.

For the country to achieve its aim for increased growth and development, according to Ortom, the lives and well-being of the people must be prioritized over other issues.
The President was applauded for delaying the census by Abdulkareem Lawan, Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly.
Speaking to journalists in Maiduguri on Saturday, Lawan argued that the majority of the 10 local government areas in Northern Borno, who have been fleeing the terror of Boko Haram for more than ten years and seeking refuge in neighboring Niger Republic, Chad, and Cameroon, needed to be brought back home in order to be counted.
According to him, conducting the census in 2023 would violate the human rights of a sizeable community of internally displaced people and refugees.
