Many PCGS candidates have asked us why they are obtaining the Federal Government Grant more frequently than those who applied in 2023, the previous year. To shed more light, we decided to write this piece; Nasims deserves credit.

1. Updated Verification Process: New NIN and BVN tests have been included in the government’s updated verification process, which may be easier for recent applicants to complete.

2. Phased Disbursement Strategy: The application process is being done in stages, and the most recent applicants were probably handled in one of those stages when the system was being optimized for maximum performance.

3. Inclusion of Diverse Demographics: Women, young people, those with disabilities, and senior citizens are just a few of the benefits the program seeks to involve. It’s possible that the mix of the most recent round of candidates more closely matches these demographic goals.

4. Resolving the Initial Delays: The shortcodes for NIN verification were sent out with some initial delays, but these have now been fixed. This could imply that applications received more recently were processed more quickly because they did not encounter these obstacles.

5. Administrative Decisions: Which applications are given priority may also depend on the selection criteria and administrative choices made by the cooperating organizations, such as State Governments and NASME.

It’s crucial to remember that funding is still being disbursed, and all approved applicants should anticipate receiving their grants in later stages.

The government has called for patience as they continue to evaluate the applications fairly and diligently, using a staggered approach aimed to guarantee that each application receives the respect it deserves.
