2023 Census: The National Population Commission (NPC) Federal Commissioner for Ondo State, Prince Diran Iyantan, revealed this on Saturday while opening a one-day state-level workshop for journalists on how to effectively cover the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

The NPC Federal Commissioner stated that the purpose of the Population and Housing Census is primarily for national planning and urged everyone to support the initiative in order to have a credible and accepted exercise that will be technologically oriented and based on digital data.

The National Population Commission is collaborating with the media to ensure a successful exercise, according to Dr. (Mrs.) Olowookere Funmbi, the state’s head of the census department, in a paper titled

“History of Population Censuses in Nigeria and Structure and Mandate of the National Population Commission.” She explained that the media has the ability to inform and reach people even in remote areas.

Additionally, Mr. Olayinka Rotimi, Mr. Ayomiposi Olakanle, State Head of ICT Department, and Mrs. Santos-Olubayode Odunayo, Head of Public Affairs Department, presented papers on “Enumeration Area Demarcation for the 2023 Population and Housing Census,”

“Technological Innovation in the 2023 Population and Housing Census,” and “How to Generate Media Content on the 2023 Population and Housing Census.”
