Senator Adeola Empowers Traders and Students with Grants and Scholarships

Senator Adeola, The Ogun West Senatorial District’s around 5,000 traders received N250 million in subsidies from the chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, with each dealer receiving N50,000. Furthermore, N100,000 bursaries were given to 1,000 impoverished tertiary institution students, and 600 students were given scholarships as a result of the legislature’s proposal.

Students at universities received N200,000, students at polytechnics received N175,000, and students at colleges of education received N150,000 from the scholarship program. Sen. Adeola, often known as Yayi, acknowledged the financial difficulties encountered by market men and women and stressed the value of contributing to the socioeconomic development of local communities.

The grants are positioned as a microfinance program to support enterprises without burdening recipients with loans. They are given in partnership with the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research.

Senator Adeola emphasized the achievements of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s “Oko Owo Dapo” initiative in aiding market men and women, and he pledged to continue supporting this vital industry.

This is the second year that market men and women have received support from the grant program, and Mrs. Yemisi Abas, the Iyaloja General of Ogun State, expressed her gratitude to the legislator for her generous gift.
