Police recruitment Important News with 20 Centres
Twenty locations for medical screening have been confirmed by the Police Recruitment Board, which was established by the Police Service Commission to oversee the current recruitment of Nigerians into the Nigeria Police Force’s Constable Cadre.
These applicants are the successful and shortlisted candidates from the recently finished computer-based exams held by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, or JAMB.
One of the several procedures the board has in place to assess applicants’ fitness for the position is the medical screening.

The candidates had previously undergone a computer-based test, a physical assessment, and a screening of their credentials. On April 16, 2024, they will go through one more screening, a medical examination. The duration of the medical screening is two weeks.
Zone 1 in Kano, Police Cottage Hospital Bompai, Kano; Zone 2 in Lagos, Police College Ikeja; Zone 3 in Yola, Police Clinic Yola; Zone 4 in Makurdi, Police Clinic Makurdi; Zone 5 in Benin, Police Cottage Hospital Benin; and Zone 6 in Calabar, Police Hospital Calabar, are the 20 centers that were chosen for the exercise. The MD Abubakar Police Hospital in Dei Dei, Abuja, and Zone 7, Abuja, are additional centers.
Zones 8 and 9 are Lokoja Police Clinic and Police Hospital, respectively; Zone 10 and PTS Clinic Sokoto; Zone 11 and Osogbo Police Hospital and PTS Clinic Bauchi; Zone 12 and PTS Clinic Bauchi; Zone 13 and Ukpo Police Hospital and Awka, respectively; Zone 14 and Ibrahim Coomassie Cottage Hospital Katsina, Maiduguri Police College and Maiduguri, and Zone 16 Headquarters Yenagoa are the remaining zones. The remaining four centers are located in Zones 17, 19, 20, and 21.
Zones 17 and 20 are respectively, Police Hospital Akure, Yobe, Utral Modern Police Hospital, Gashua Road, Damaturu, Kaduna, and Police College Clinic Kaduna.
“The candidates for the medical screening have already been contacted on the dates and time for their screening,” the commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, stated in a statement.
He claimed that retired Inspector General of Police Dr. Solomon Arase, the Commission’s chairman, had prayed for the recruitment process to end well.
In addition to advising the applicants to adhere to the times and dates assigned to them, he mentioned that one of the conditions for the recruiting process is that medical specialists be chosen to assess the candidates’ medical status.
Dr. Successful candidates, according to Dr. Arase, would report to specific police colleges for the required instruction.
Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Commissioner of the Police Service Commission, is the chairman of the Police Recruitment Board. DIG Frank Mbah, DIG Training, is his assistant. The Secretary of the Board is Deputy Commissioner of Police Bode Akinbamilowo, who is supported by Assistant Director Sanusi Yusuf of the Police Service Commission.
The Police Service Commission, Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Police Trust Fund, Ministry of Police Affairs, and Police Colleges are among the organizations represented on the Board.
