NPC Announces Nationwide Movement Ban for Population Census for Three Days
National Population Commission Staff – The start of the National Housing and Population Census would result in a three-day nationwide movement restriction for Nigerians.This information was provided by Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, the Chairman of the National Population Commission, at a meeting with the diplomatic corps on Thursday in Abuja.

The tentative start date for the census is set for Wednesday, May 3, 2023, and it will go through Sunday, May 7, 2023.
However, the commencement time won’t be made official until after talks with state governors.
The commission will decide how the Diplomatic Corps may engage in the exercise in consultation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, according to Hon. Kwarra.
In a related development, Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of foreign affairs, spoke earlier and emphasized the significance of the census for Nigeria’s progress.
