JAMB Update on Cut-Off Marks for University, Polytechnic and College of Education 2023 Admissions
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given an update on cut-off marks for Universities, polytechnic and colleges.
According to the testing organization, the cut-off for universities and other higher institutions in the nation will be established on June 24.
The decision will be decided during a meeting with the chiefs of all tertiary institutions and regulatory authorities, according to JAMB.
FCT, Abuja -The date on which the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will determine the cut-off for admissions to universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions across the nation in 2023 has been made public.

The National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education, and the National Commission for Colleges of Education, among others, will meet with all heads of tertiary institutions to make the decision.
In the weekly bulletin, JAMB’s Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, announced that the meeting would take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the National Judicial Institute.

Benjamin clarified that only a particular group of people are allowed to attend the meeting.
He also said that other matters pertaining to the education industry would be covered at the meeting.

He said:
“Only two delegates from each of the respective tertiary institutions will be accepted, including the Head of the Institution and one officer of the institution who will be chosen by the Head.
“Other vital problems of national importance, particularly as they pertain to the education sector, are scheduled for discussion during the Policy Meeting in addition to challenges arising from the Registrar, JAMB, presentation on the just ended UTME.
“The meeting is also anticipated to establish admission policies, present and analyze application information, applicant performance, and assess the 2023 admission process.
Additionally, among other things, the policy meeting will determine the acceptable minimum admissible score to be used in all admissions to be conducted by all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
JAMB explains why direct entrance students will begin taking the same tests as UTME candidates.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new policy modification for Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission to Nigerian colleges, according to a report from Legit.ng.
Direct Entry (DE) candidates would reportedly take the same test as UTME candidates going forward, according to JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
Similar to this, JAMB has outlined 14 requirements that returnee students from countries experiencing civil war must fulfill before they can enroll in Nigerian universities.
The details were revealed on Wednesday, June 7, by the Registrar of the JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, in a virtual conference with vice chancellors of institutions and other important stakeholders, according to The Nation.
