Important News on Nigerian Police Force Recruitment

The Nigerian Police Force has commented on the irregularity and alleged corruption in the release of the names of successful candidates for the 2022/23 recruitment of new police officers. that is ongoing.

This is necessary after the complaints and accusations of corruption made by the candidates and stakeholders on the mistakes that surrounded the project, especially the failure to release the names of the candidates who have been evaluated and the winners to the stage. the last one.

the list of names released on the PSC channel, it was found that

i) Many names of people who are suspected are the names of the successful candidates, they are the ones who did not even apply, so they did not participate in the recruitment process.

ii) The published list contains many names of candidates who have failed either the Computer Test (CBT) the physical test or both.

iii)some reproached the final the tage of the exercise but were denied because they were found to be sick through the health test but they made the list of successful candidates as published by the PSC.

vi) What is more confusing is the allegation of financial transactions and corrupt practices that lead to results where those who are not qualified are expelled.

On June 10, 2024, the Inspector General of Police wrote a letter rejecting the list of names sent to the head of the agency, mentioning the findings listed above. The response of the IGP was without regard to the agency’s power to hire police as the Supreme Court has ruled but this power does not include the power to hire people who are not qualified and who do not have training for the police.

Considering that the police are responsible for hiring people who are not qualified, not the agency in charge of police work, not the PSC.

Similarly, those who hired the police today will turn around and accuse the police of incompetence tomorrow if the police they hired start a conflict.
Therefore, the police force distanced itself from the list of names published and called for a review that would be fair.

As long as it is not forgotten, the leadership of the Police Services Commission, after the Supreme Court announced the decision of the police recruitment commission, established a joint recruitment commission, which one of the PSC commissioners will lead. , with the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of training and development of the Police Force as its Secretary. But the surprising thing is that the commission was paralyzed and it was never allowed to carry out its work, so even the final list did not approve the commission.

Therefore, the Nigerian Police Force has rejected this bad development and called for a review of the entire systof professionalsnaandand kers in the Nigerian Police Force, as the Honorable President Bola Ahmed failed. The Tinubu government has reformed the police.

The NPF police force reiterated that we are not concerned about the situation and the problems faced by job seekers, who have been subjected to all kinds of screening, confirming that they have promised to ensure been that fully studied, and it has succeeded and succeeded. improving the Nigerian police, and improving the country.
