Fire Service Recruitment News Today 2024 Conclusion

The Correctional, Civil Defence, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that the ongoing recruitment process for the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will end on June 15, 2024, by its revised timeline for the conduct of employment in the paramilitary Services under its purview.

Fire Service Recruitment News Today: Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board, promised applicants who were awaiting the results of the process that the final list of successful candidates who submitted for enlistment in the Federal Fire Service would be released on the specified date.

Dr Tunji-Ojo spoke through the CDCFIB secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, after the quarterly review meeting with the leaders of the four paramilitary agencies under its oversight.

Ahmed, who warned applicants to be wary of scammers defrauding innocent Nigerians, also stated that shortlisted candidates who would be selected to participate in the Computer-based Test (CBT), as well as Physical Screening/Certificate Verification/Psychometric Evaluation would be prompted to visit the Board’s portal via messages sent to their emails and mobile phones.

Meanwhile, the Board secretary informed the press that they had reviewed and approved 118 instances involving erring officers from the four Services, as well as taken necessary disciplinary action.

He gave a breakdown of the 118 instances evaluated by the four agencies, saying that the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) had 48, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) had 21, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) had 37, and the Federal Fire Service had 12. He stated that the punishment varies from demotion on psychiatric grounds to reversed ranking and outright dismissal, among other penalties.

He highlighted other issues addressed, such as the consideration and approval of the posting of revised standards for appointments, promotion, discipline, and general reasons.

Others, according to him, were the discussion and approval of a manpower audit of the four agencies under its jurisdiction. He also stated that the Board examined the schedule for conducting the 2024 promotion exercise.
