ASUU Begins Indefinite Strike | The reasons behind the Asuu strike are related to
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter at Benue State University (BSU) recently started an indefinite strike, which has caused the university’s gates to be closed.
The start of the indefinite strike has been formally confirmed by Dr. Kwaehfan Tarmombo, Chairman of ASUU BSU.
The university gates are closed, making it impossible for employees and students to enter the campus.
Dr. Tarmombo underscored that the strike is all-encompassing, complete, and has no set end date.
Dr. Tarmombo withheld specifics on what caused the walkout, although he did say that there were “several problems” with the university administration.
This implies that BSU ASUU members may have unresolved issues or concerns that they want to be addressed.
Dr. John Ogi, a senior lecturer in BSU’s Department of Mass Communication, claims that the university administration sealed the gates to stop the planned ASUU congress.
The purpose of the congress was to inform participants of the National Branch of ASUU’s guidelines.
Due to the lockout at the gates, the ASUU BSU Chairman unexpectedly announced the strike action, which was followed by members singing the hymn of unity.
The BSU ASUU chapter has started an indefinite strike, which has caused the university’s gates to be closed and interfered with academic activities.
The strike is being held in response to several problems with the university administration.
