Strong Messages To whoever Wants to Apply for Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services
CDCFIB retracts statement about NIS recruitment. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has denied issuing a press announcement about a 2024 merit replacement effort in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Ja’afaru Ahmed, secretary to the board, said in a statement on Friday in Abuja that the alleged press release did not come from the board and encouraged Nigerians to reject it.
The statement read: “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board’s attention has been directed to a spurious press release made by the board regarding a putative 2024 merit replacement process in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
“We would want to tell the general public that the alleged press release did not come from the board and should be disregarded. “Also, the board wishes to warn people who are the public to be wary of the schemes of fake recruitment syndicates and racketeers,”
Ahmad went on to say. Meanwhile, the CDCFIB declared that the ongoing recruitment for the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will expire on June 15, 2024.
Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior and head of the board, stated that this was consistent with the board’s reviewed timeframe for conducting employment in paramilitary services under its control.
He assured applicants awaiting the results of the process that the final list of successful candidates who applied for enlistment in the Federal Fire Service would be released on the specified day.
The Minister spoke through the CDCFIB secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, after the quarterly review meeting with the leaders of the four paramilitary agencies under its oversight.
Ahmed, who warned applicants to be wary of scammers defrauding innocent Nigerians, went on to explain that candidates who were selected who would be selected for participating in the Computer-based Test (CBT), as well as physical screening/certificate verification/psychometric evaluation would be directed to the board’s portal via messages sent to their emails and mobile phones.
